Giddy Up & Go Granola Review

Thoughtful Food, Inc., announced its first product Giddy Up & Go Granola - a delicious granola blend promoting healthy digestion, which offers the optimal daily requirement of Omegas needed for brain development. Starting with the finest ingredients available, Thoughtful Food created two granola blends so pure that they are one of the only brands on the market to be USDA certified organic and certified gluten-free – not to mention dairy free and vegan. Products are also made using only 100% organic agave nectar, and may be a safe choice for some diabetics as well.

Jennifer Bielawski founded Thoughtful Food in 2009 after her family was forced to change their diets to eliminate grain, starch, sugar and most lactose. After investing in many new gadgets and spending countless hours in the kitchen experimenting with recipes and searching for and testing numerous products, Jennifer discovered how to replicate many of the foods her family could no longer eat. This inspired her to start her own company, making nutritious “clean” food that tastes great! Giddy Up & Go Granola can currently be found in over 300 stores and vending machines on the West Coast, and is rapidly growing.

My thoughts-I have never just snacked on Granola alone but now I have.  I love the Notoriously Nutty Granola.  It is a great snack.  The Seriously Seedy is good too.  I brought the two different bags to work and allowed my co-workers to snack on them.  They all had good things to say.  Like this was seriously a great snack.  Healthy doesn't have to taste bad.  Some could not pick which one they liked more, because they were both great.  So we all loved it.

People Like Us Review

“People Like Us,” a drama/comedy about family, inspired by true events, starring Chris Pine (“Star Trek”) as Sam, a twenty-something, fast-talking salesman, whose latest deal collapses on the day he learns that his father has suddenly died. Against his wishes, Sam is called home, where he must put his father's estate in order and reconnect with his estranged family. In the course of fulfilling his father's last wishes, Sam uncovers a startling secret that turns his entire world upside down: He has a 30-year-old sister Frankie whom he never knew about (Elizabeth Banks). As their relationship develops, Sam is forced to rethink everything he thought he knew about this family—and re-examine his own life choices in the process.

In a story inspired by true events, Sam, a twenty-something, fast-talking salesman, is tasked with fulfilling his estranged father’s last wishes—delivering an inheritance to a sister he never knew he had.

My thoughts-This was such a great movie to reflect on.  It made me think of how me and my brothers in sisters in El Salvador were when we first met.  I cried.  Elizabeth Banks is really good at portraying a single mom.  My husband even said, I wanna call my mom after the movie.  It was good.  Leave the kids at home, and gave your hunny and head to the movies.

Here is the trailer in case you have not seen it:

While trying to save their childhood orphanage, Moe, Larry, and Curly inadvertently stumble into a murder plot and wind up starring in a reality TV show.

My thoughts-If you like the original Three Stooges, you will crack up laughing with these 3.  It is a funny adventure to follow as Moe, Larry and Curly who are clueless go on just being themselves.  The Jersey Shore cast comes out on here too.  The storyline is funny.  My 13 yr old and I had our stomachs hurting from such silliness.

I think I'm being Sexually Harrassed

So I have been working in a very small company for over 8 years now.  They were great with my pregnancy.  Allowing me the time I needed for my appointments and giving me 3 months off work.

With my son Matt I was unable to breastfeed him for the entire year.  He was a lazy eater and since he really didn't latch on, it dried up.  So with my daughter I was on a mission to try again.  It was rough trying to nurse my baby in the NICU but with the help of her nurse I was able to get her to latch on eventually.  And by the time we left the hospital my milk was coming in.

Because of my Placenta Previa the doctor decided to do an early c-section delivery.  So I really wanted her to get all the benefits from the breastmilk.  When I was home I followed the same feeding schedule she had in the hospital, every 3 hours.

Fast Forward....I returned to work when she was 3 months.  I bring my pump with me everyday to work and try to pump at 9:30 am, noon, and at 3:30 pm.  It is hard to pump at work.  Not only do I have to deal with working around my work schedule, meetings, and unexpectedness, but Sexual Harrassment?  Tell me what you think.

I carry my pump in a black bag.  I pump in a conference room that no one really uses.  It is the only place with a lock that I would be able to use.  When it is time for me to pump I inform my assistant that I am going up and she knows why.  In case anyone is looking for me, they all know what I am doing.  I store the milk in our community refrigerator in our mini breakroom.  And at the end of the day, I collect my bottles, stick them in my bag, and leave.

But here is where the SEXUAL HARRASSMENT or some kind of HARRASSMENT comes to place.  When I go to pump there is one co-worker who always has jokes.  And lately I had either ignored it, laughed it off, or just played along but let me tell you what broke the camel's back.  Please keep in mind I have been doing this for 3 months already.

Yesterday, I had just finished pumping.  I went to store my milk in the refrigerator, and guess who was in the breakroom.  He was grabbing at his boob acting as if he was squeezing milk out into a container he had on the table.  I laughed it off like usual.  Put my milk in the refrigerator and when to wash my pump.  As I was in the restroom, I wondered enough is enough.  Should I be offended, would someone else be offended.  Would you like to be called a cow?  Would you like jokes being told about you every time you go pump?  Would you say something?  Do you think this is harrassment?  What if one of the owners is in on the jokes too?  Who do you go to then?

Breastfeeding my baby is very important to me.  That is why I pump everyday, drink Mother's milk tea to keep producing milk, and even take pills so keep the milk flowing.  I face those kinds challenges everyday, why should I have to put up with this too.  I have 6 more months of this, what to do?  What would you do?

Road to Marathon

So before I was pregnant I could run, not breaking records but I would do 5Ks, 10Ks, and even some half marathons.  While I was pregnant I was unable to workout, exercise, and bearly allowed to walk.  And my recovery from my c-section has been a hard one.  I started walking and doing Zumba after 6 weeks.  Even though it has been hard to get back into the routine of things, I have tried my best to at least do something every week.
This is me and baby Gia.  Our first official walk, 5 miles.  She did really good, and I even better because I crossed the finish line.

This is my husband, baby Gia, and me after my first 5K of the year.  Yes, you read that right.  3.1 miles, and I crossed the finish line in 40 minutes.  My husband had a foot injury so he pushed the baby in the stroller and once she woke up, she wanted to get in her Britax carrier.  It was an awesome feeling crossing that line once again.

This is what I am doing:

Monday-Treadmill 1 hr, Zumba 1 hr
Tuesday-Walk 3 miles
Wednesday-Run/Jog, Walk 2.88 miles
Thursday-Walk 3 miles
Saturday-Zumba 1 hr

This is my schedule that I am suppose to follow every week.  Some weeks I do it all, some weeks I only do one day, but I do something.  I have not lost any weight.  I cannot diet because I am breastfeeding.  But my time is getting better and better.

My biggest supporter and coach has been my husband.  He is helping me every step of the way.  He walks with me on Tuesday and Thursdays.  My bestfriend works out with me on Mondays.  And so are my co-workers.  We have started a running team. Even though right now our motto is to Run, Jog, Walk, or Crawl~to the finish line, and of course to have fun doing it!  After work on Wednesday, we go to the park accross the street and run together.  While we all start together, we do not finish together.  But we are all there at the end.  And we have every fitness level from beginners to advance.  The point is a have a great support group.

My first goal is to finish a 5K in under 30 minutes.

So follow along my road back.  Every month I will update where I am, if I have lost any weight and update you on my races.  Accountability can make someone accomplish their goals, so check on me, ask me, give me advice, etc..

Do you run/jog/walk?  Do you have a goal?  Do you have a suggestion or advice for me?  I would love to hear your comments, questions, or concerns...

Travelers—particularly those who venture out after sunset on unfamiliar pathways—beware of the will o’ the wisps.
It is said—though by whom is a bit of a mystery—that on certain days for certain travelers in certain parts of the world, little lights dance on the horizon, whispering tempting invitations… pledging the answers to lifelong questions, the realization of dreams, a key to secret treasures—a change of fate.
Charmed and curious, unsuspecting travelers follow the floating lights, mesmerized by their whispers, their promises. Yet no matter how long or how fervently they follow, they never quite touch the beautiful beacons whose flickering lights eventually fade and disappear… leaving the inquisitors, the dreamers and the treasure seekers lost… and alone..

* * *
In “Brave,” Merida spies tiny blue lights after escaping into the forest in search of a change of fate. Forming a path that dares her to follow, the lights lead Merida to a mysterious location that holds the power to change her destiny—just not in the way she imagines.
“The will o’ the wisps are in a lot of Scottish folktales,” says “Brave” director Mark Andrews. “They were said to lead you to treasure or doom—to change your fate—but they’re an actual phenomenon of swamp and bog gas seeping up through the earth and interacting with the natural resources to create the blue flames. People would follow these lights thinking they were little fairies, and basically drown or get sucked down into the bogs.

“We made the wisps like actual little spirits,” Andrews continues. “They’re almost like Marley’s ghost in a way, because Marley’s ghost isn’t an evil spirit—even though he’s frightening, he’s trying to warn Ebenezer to change his ways. That’s what the wisps are doing. There’s a duality to them, because they’re either good or evil—they lead Merida into more and more trouble, but in the end, they’ve led her exactly where she needs to go.”

Glory Foods Review

Using the delicious dishes served in his Columbus, Ohio soul food restaurant as inspiration, William F. “Bill” Williams, along with three partners, Dan Charna, Iris Cooper and Garth Henley, launched Glory Foods in 1989. The vision for this food company, steeped in generations of Southern-style recipes and flavors, came to the table during a friendly discussion about holiday dinner preparation. Williams mentioned to friends the number of hours and care that went into cooking a savory pot of collard greens and how no African-American family celebration is complete without them. How great it would be to have truly authentic canned collard greens, Williams thought. After extensive research, Williams and his partners realized that pre-seasoned, canned collard greens were not available anywhere. So they set out to launch Glory Foods. The company has since become synonymous with quality, convenience and flavorful Southern-style vegetables.
My thoughts-Glory Foods is great Southern-style cooking that you can serve at home. The food is perfectly seasoned.  If you are looking to create and serve a dish with a Southern flavor this is perfect for you.  From the cooking base to the hot sauce, it is all good.  My favorite is the hot sauce.  I have never tasted such a flavorful hot sauce.  It is more to my liking because it didnt burn my mouth.  I was able to still taste the dishes.  They even have a sensibly seasoned line of products with lower sodium which is American Heart Association certified.

Kaijudo Duel Masters In-Home Premiere Party

"Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters" premiered on Saturday, June 2 at 8 pm ET/PT on The Hub TV network, but my son and his friends were able to be among the first to experience this animated action-fantasy series! The show follows the adventures of a young hero, Ray, who possesses the rare ability to befriend and duel alongside fantastical creatures from a parallel dimension. Evil forces would have these creatures tamed and enslaved, so Ray and his two best friends must join the ranks of the mysterious Duel Masters to ensure the survival of both races before it's too late.

What is summer without some summer fun?  New show for the kiddos to be on the look out for.  Matt invited over some of his friends and their little brothers.  And they watched:
•Episode 101: "The Natural - Part 1": Ray and his friends are introduced to the world of the Kaijudo Duel Masters, a secret order of heroes sworn to protect mankind from fantastical creatures - and from the evil forces of The Choten, who would use those creatures to conquer the world.

•Episode 102: "The Natural - Part 2": Ray, Allie and Gabe explore the wonders of the Kaijudo Temple and learn the basics of creature dueling. The Kaijudo Duel Masters are impressed by Ray's abilities (but skeptical of his unconventional techniques) when he summons the powerful Tatsurion The Unchained.

•Episode 103: "The Natural - Part 3": Ray, Allie and Gabe pay a visit to the Temple Stables and bond with some new creatures only to find themselves preparing for battle when one of The Choten's followers releases a deadly threat in the Temple.

The boys really liked Kaijudo!  They are adding this show to their favs!

Broadway Greats Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez to Contribute Original Songs

BURBANK, Calif. (June 11, 2012) – Walt Disney Animation Studios presents an epic tale of adventure and comedy in “Frozen,” a computer-animated feature film slated for the big screen in November 2013. Directed by Chris Buck (“Tarzan,” “Surf’s Up”) and produced by Peter Del Vecho (“Winnie the Pooh,” “The Princess and the Frog”), “Frozen” features the vocal talents of film/TV/stage star Kristen Bell as Anna, a young dreamer about to take the adventure of a lifetime, and Tony Award ®-winning actress Idina Menzel as Elsa the Snow Queen. The movie will feature original songs by Broadway greats Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

In “Frozen,” a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, so Anna (voice of Bell) must team up with Kristoff, a daring mountain man, on the grandest of journeys to find the Snow Queen (voice of Menzel) and put an end to the icy spell. Encountering Everest-like extremes, mystical creatures and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction.

Bell has starred in a variety of films, including the comedies “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “Couples Retreat,” and the upcoming films “Hit & Run,” “Some Girls” and the Farrelly Brothers’ “Movie 43.” On the small screen, Bell is currently starring in the Showtime series “House of Lies” alongside Don Cheadle; she has also starred in “Heroes” and “Veronica Mars.” Broadway credits include “The Crucible” and “Tom Sawyer.”

Menzel, who won a Tony Award® as Best Actress in a Musical for her role as Elphaba in Broadway’s “Wicked” (2004), landed her first role on Broadway in 1995 in the Tony Award-winning musical “Rent.” Film credits include “Enchanted” and the feature film “Rent.” She has appeared in a recurring role on TV’s “Glee” and recently released “Idina Menzel Live: Barefoot at the Symphony,” a live concert with an orchestra led by composer/conductor Marvin Hamlisch. Menzel is currently on a North American concert tour.

Robert Lopez is a three-time Tony Award®-winning writer of the Tony and Grammy® Award-winning musical “The Book of Mormon,” which was co-written with Trey Parker and Matt Stone (“South Park”), and the musical “Avenue Q,” which ran for six years on Broadway and four years in London’s West End.  Lopez teamed with wife Anderson-Lopez, whose Drama Desk-winning show “In Transit” is Broadway-bound, to write original songs for 2011’s “Winnie the Pooh,” a stage version of “Finding Nemo” and a new musical called “Up Here.”

Brave 3D Review

Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In “Brave,” a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts.

Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Witch (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.

My thoughts-I like movies with life lessons.  It was action packed with lots of adventures.  My son's favorite part was closer to the end.  Dont worry I wont ruin it for you.  My husband liked the 3 brothers.  I like Merida bravery.  I could relate.  I recommend this movie for ages 5 and up.  They do have an accent in case you did not know.  Family movie.  Gia liked it.  And the cool part was the Director was at the screening answering questions.

Directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman, and produced by Katherine Sarafian, “Brave” is a grand adventure full of heart, memorable characters and the signature Pixar humor enjoyed by audiences of all ages. The film takes aim at theaters on June 22, 2012, and will be presented in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.

Buccaneer Beauty Review

I love throwing themed parties.  I also like dressing up.  Come on now, who wants to grow

Well through a recent conversation with my husband and his family, we found out my poor husband felt he never had had a little kids birthday party he could at least remember.  So me being the great wife that I am and understanding him and his feelings, decided to throw him a little kids pirate party.

I got a pinata, candy bags, and I even dressed up.  You know every party needs a clown and guess what, I was the clown, per say.  I was a Pirate buccaneer.
My husband got a real kick out of my costume and so did the guest.  As I greeted everyone at the door.  "Arrrggggg, Matey!" "Ahoy"

Hey we work hard, but we play harder.  We are allowed to wear adult costumes, especially a pirate costume.

My thoughts-This Buccaneer Beauty costume is a Plus Size that comes in 2X and 3X.  It is a corset style without the pain of a real corset.  It was easy to pull it over.  I didn't have to suck it all day long. The skirt is elastic.  I was able to pull it over my biking shorts.  And was able to feast all day long on the Pirate mush I made.

Plus Size Costume Super Center has risk free shopping.  Free exchanges.  They pay shipping both ways.

The party was a blast!
