Share A Scare Kids Halloween Lunch Ideas

Halloween falls on a school day this year.  It is my daughter's first year in school and she loves to pack lunches.  I started thinking how can I add a little spookiness to her lunch and what I do for one, I have to do for the other one.  It is his last year of school and why not add a little fun to his lunch too.
Thanks to Nestle for sending samples for review.  All opinions stated are my own based on my personal experience.

I decided to share a little scare with my kids this year.  First, I added a little spooky to the refrigerator by placing a decorative pumpkin and Nestle Halloween water bottles.
Then I added a little fun to their lunch packs:

Spooky Apple Mouth or Monsters
For my son I made him a gross mouth.  He loves Nutella so his mouth was full of Nutella.  For my daughter I made a monster that was full of grape jelly.  I used peanuts for the teeth on both.

Ghosts
For the head I used a white mini powered donut and for the body, I used marshmallows.  I placed them in a small snack bag.  I placed a white napkin on top.  Then I used a ribbon to tie the napkin to the snack bag.  My daughter said a ghost had to a face so I used a marker to add eyes, nose, and mouth.

Spooktacular Drinks
Nestlé® Pure Life® Halloween monster/Día de los Muertos calavera bottles come in cute holiday-inspired designs including a spooky cat, jack-o-lantern and two new calaveras, available in 8 oz. size water bottles that will keep the kids hydrated whether at a party, in their lunch packs, or out trick-or-treating.  My kids love to drink water.  Water is always in their lunch packs.  These water bottles help me share a little scare with them.

How do you share a scare with your kids?

Dia de los Muertos Make Up

***Disclosure-I was invited to a Nestle event at a local Fiesta mart.  This is a compensated post.  All opinions stated are my own based on my personal experience.

Have you ever wondered how to do a Dia de los Muertos make up?  Here is a simple step by step for a Catrina:

Step 1-Start by cleaning the face with a baby wipe.

Step 2-Cover the face with white face paint.  You can use a sponge or your index finger works the same.
Make sure to completely cover the entire face.
Step 3-Draw a black circle around the eyes.  You can use an old eye liner.  Or you can use a thin brush with the black face paint.
You will use the circle as an outline.  Now color in the black circle using black face paint.
You can also use black eye shadow to fill in the circle.
Step 4-Make loops around the border of the black circle.  You can use the liner or thin brush again.
Step 5-Use your thin brush or liner to make a line from one side of the mouth to the other.  Use the lips as your guide.
Step 6-Now make small lines going up and down the line you drew.  Making the lips look like they are sewn together.
Step 7-Color in the loops on the circles with red.  Use a brush or a Q-tip.
This is the final look.
You can also add black to the tip of your nose for more of the skeleton  look.

Littlest Pet Shop: Halloween Fest

***Disclosure-Sample copy was received for review.  All opinions stated are my own based on my personal experience.

My daughter loves watching movies.  Halloween can be a scary season for some kiddos.  And on sometimes some movies and show are not kid friendly or conscious.  Here is one of our recommendations perfect for Halloween:
Join Blythe Baxter and all her furry friends at the Littlest Pet Shop for some tricks and treats this Halloween!  Get seriously spooked with Blythe and her pet pals with Littlest Pet Shop: Halloween Fest.  More fun comes with a pumpkin carving stencil inside!

It’s the spookiest time of the year and Blythe and her best friends from the Littlest Pet Shop are ready for all the spine-tingling adventures, including investigating werewolves, ghosts, pet psychics, aliens from outer space and a mysterious jungle curse! It’s all here in The Littlest Pet Shop: Halloween Fest!

Episodes Include:
Door-Jammed
Eight Arms To Hold You
Pawlm Reading
War Of The Weirds
The Very Littlest Pet Shop

Bonus Features:
Sing-Along

Don't tell my teen I told you but he liked this movie too.  So it not only entertained my toddler but the teen too.  We like the Littlest Pet Shop.  The movies are always kid friendly.

Are your littles or teens fans of the Littlest Pet Shop?  Who is their favorite?

Toddler Photo Shoot with Girls Costumes

***Disclosure-Costume was received for review purposes.  All opinions stated are my own based on my personal experience.

I love dress up time with my daughter.  She loves to pretend she is a princess, and sometimes I don't think she is pretending.  She, like most little girls her age, love to play dress up.  Do you have a little girl or boy who loves to play pretend?  Of course, when playing pretend you need to be in character.
Costumes can also be used for great photo shoot options for birthdays, holidays, and everyday pictures.  We recently decided to take our daughter to a new play land that has a castle, dragons, and beautiful landscapes to take pictures.  Who would of thought that the play land in the mall would be a perfect place to take pictures of your kids?  When thinking photo shoot, think about just letting your kiddo have fun and you capturing those moments.
-I have learned that with our daughter it is just better to let her do her thing than asking her to pose and smile.
-With any toddler, be prepared for all things going wrong.
-Bring help.  Mamis, papis, big brothers, and sisters can all join in the fun too!  But they can also be a helping hand when needed.
-Don't get frustrated when the shot your are looking for isn't working.  You can always edit the pictures later.  Just keep the camera shooting, one shot might come out great out of all the outtakes.

We let our daughter just run around this play land and I just shot pictures of her all over.  In some pictures there were kids or parents in the way.

-Remember to pick a time that works out good for you, your kid, and the place you will be using.  I thought showing up early would be perfect but this place is popular as it was already full at opening time.

Everyone loved seeing my daughter in her costume at the play land.  No one else was dressed up except for her.  But her costume was so cute and it went with the castle play land.  We have a poised, little girl who loves the camera, dress up, and the attention!

We had not done a photo shoot with our toddler.  It was fun until it was time to go.  She did not want to leave the onsite location.  But who would want to leave a beautiful play land like this one.  Makes pretending to be a princess so much more real than playing at your house.

Moño de Princesa #NoMoreTangles

***Disclosure-No compensation was received.  Informational post only.

Last week, I shared how to do an Elsa from Frozen braid.  But if your daughter does not want to be that princess it is ok.  Try this look:

***Disclosure-Back in April, I announced I was a Seaworld Wildsider for 2014.   I told you I would be going on some amazing adventures throughout the year as part of me being a Wildsider.  This is one of the many adventures I have been on this year.  Thanks to Seaworld San Antonio, I received a special invitation which included Fright Feast dinner show ticket, and a Fear Pass for myself and my guest.  And now to tell you about my adventure...

I have never been to the park in the Fall.  Normally we only visit during the Summer time when the kids are out of school.  But every year, the kids get a Fall holiday which is in the beginning of October.  Seaworld will be our destination, next Fall holiday.

It is a #HersheysHalloween

Are you planning a party this Halloween?  Do you have activities planned for the kids?  Some kids do not like the spooky and scary part of Halloween so sometimes you have to get a little creative with Halloween parties.  I love to create fun games for the all ages to enjoy from the little ones to the big ones.

First up, Halloween candy people.  The kids can let their imagination go wild and let them create little monsters, mummies, ghosts, whatever they would like scary or not.  There are no rules.  Just provide tools they can use.  Tools we used:

-Rolos
-Cadbury Creme Egg
-toothpick
Next, we made little Ice Cream and Candy Cemetery.  We made tombstones by cutting KitKats and Hershey's in smaller pieces.  Used food coloring to paint the whipped cream.  Also made little ghosts with the whipped cream.  Tools we used:

-ice cream single serve cups
-whipped cream
-green food coloring
-Halloween KitKat snack size
-Hershey's milk chocolate snack size
All treats are edible for the kids to enjoy while they are having fun using their imagination.  Next we played games.  One game we love to play all the time is Tic Tac Toe.  All we needed was a board to play on.  Tools we used:

-Halloween KitKat snack size
-Hershey's kisses (2 different colors)

Another fun game we like to play came inspired from the Carnival.  This one is fun and everyone gets prizes.  Each person gets 5 chances to get the candy in the cups without knocking over.  Or you can do 3 in a row.  Tools we used:

-plastic cups
-Rolos
-prizes (i picked up small toys from the $1 store)
If you are having a pirate themed Halloween party, you can also use the candy as props.  Tools used:

-Rolos (because they are gold)
-Hershey's kisses (because they are silver)
Of course after everyone has had a lot of fun, you can make candy bags for everyone to take home.  Or you can put the candy in witches pots and have them fill their own.  I love the Halloween candy shaped like pumpkins from York, Reese's, pumpkin spice Hershey's kisses, and the orange KitKats.
I fixed candy bags for the kids to take home to play with.  Each bag have lots of goodies for them to enjoy once they leave.  I also put their names on them just in case someone grabbed a bag before leaving so that the bags would not get mixed up.  You know kids they then to put things down and then lose them.
Planning a party this Halloween?  Got any ideas you want to share....I would love to hear what works for you at your parties.

Sexy Toe Tappin Flapa Women's 20s Flapper Costume Review

Disclosure-Sample product was received to review.  All opinions are my own.

So I love to throw parties, themed parties.  I have done the disco theme, black and white, 80s and have been wondering what is next in the party line up.  So I am turning 35 this year, but shhhh in my head I tell myself I am still in my roaring 20s.  So when I was thinking of throwing myself a party, I thought why not go back in time.  I was thinking to a different era where everyone would be dressed in 1920s fashion.  Everyone has so much fun when they dress up.  This was not our time but I when I think of those times, I think of short skirts, dacing, and lots of fun.  My parties are always alot of fun.  So of course, I need the perfect costume as I am the party host and it is my birthday.  I was thinking of glitz meets snazzy.  Why in my head I just said-And All the Jazzzzz...lol..

I wasn't sure if I wanted to be a sexy flapper, gangster, or a cabaret girl but this dress is my style.
It is sexy.  It is shiny.  It fits perfect.  Thanks to Anytime Costumes for sending me the Sexy Toe Tappin Flapa Women's 20s Flapper Costume.  It is a stretch knit strapless dress with unique drop waist, draping sequin trim and removable shoulder straps. It includes a sequin neckband and matching sequin and feather headband.
Now all  I need is some white gloves, one of those long cigarette holders, and some sexy silver heels.  Oh yeah and of course plan my party, decorate, send out invitations, and have a blast at my party.  Well at least the important part is done-my perfect birthday outfit.
