Halloween Recipes from Nestle

Creepy Crawly Rice Pudding
Frighten family and friends with the Creepy Crawly Rice Pudding. The creepy confections on rice pudding lends a haunting flair family and friends won’t soon forget.

Preparation Time: 10 mins
Cooking Time: 40 mins

Makes 8 servings

1 1/2 cups water
3/4 cup uncooked, medium-grain rice
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
2 cans (12 fluid ounces each) NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Lowfat 2% Milk
6 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 large egg, beaten in small bowl
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Fun Size NESTLÉ® CRUNCH®, BUTTERFINGER® and/or BABY RUTH® Candy Bars, chopped (optional)

COMBINE water, rice and salt in medium, heavy-duty saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cover. Cook for 10 minutes or until most of liquid is absorbed.

ADD evaporated milk, sugar and cinnamon; stir well. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium-low. Cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 25 minutes or until creamy. Stir a small portion of rice mixture into egg; add back to the rice mixture and mix well. Bring to a boil. Cook, stirring frequently, for 1 minute. Stir in vanilla extract.

TRANSFER pudding to spooky serving bowl or eight individual bowls. Cover with plastic wrap, pressing wrap onto the pudding (this will prevent a skin from forming). Serve warm or refrigerate for 2 hours or until cold. Top with chopped candy bars or creepy confections.

Spook-tacular Chocolate-Dipped Pretzels
Dipped in melted chocolate morsels and decorated with a variety of spookalicious candies, these festive treats are a frightfully fun way to celebrate the haunting night ahead.

Preparation Time: 15 mins
Refrigeration Time: 30 mins

Makes 30 pretzels

1 1/3 to 2 cups NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels, melted according to package directions in 8- or 9-inch microwave-safe dish
1 bag (10 ounces) pretzel rods
A few NESTLÉ® CRUNCH® and BUTTERFINGER® Fun Size Candy Bars, chopped
WONKA® Halloween Candies such as Spooky NERDS® and SweeTARTS® Skulls n' Bones*

LINE baking sheet with wax paper. Place each candy on separate sheets of wax paper.

DIP pretzel rods halfway into chocolate; shake off excess. Roll rods in candies (one candy type per pretzel rod); place on prepared baking sheet.

PLACE in refrigerator for about 30 minutes to harden. Once hardened, remove from baking sheets and store, covered, in cool place with wax paper between layers.

The creepy crawly pudding is great because if something that is creepy crawly falls in, no one will know.
