This past week, the weather has been ridiculous and this week I am turning a year older.  It is important for us as we get older to continue to protect our skin with the proper protection.  In the Summer, the magic word is SPF.  SPF helps block ultraviolet rays that can cause sunburns.  Ouch!

What is in your make up bag?  Do you carry a make up bag in your purse?  I have a whole closet of make up but in my purse I carry the essentials.  I normally don't wear a cake of make up on but just a little bit can do so much.  The first thing people see when you greet them is your face.  I do not want them to see my bags, or tired eyes.   So before any impromptu meetings, I grab my make up bag and grab my:

Powder-The powder helps smooth out my skin.  Hiding all my imperfections.  Not that I have any.  My husband says it helps me look like a porcelain doll.

Eye Shadow-Adds a little color to my face.  I like to use soft colors for a natural look.

Mascara-This is to open my eyes up.  I do not get enough sleep.  I have tired eyes everyday.  Mascara always completes my eyes.

Lip Gloss/Lipstick-I just put enough to give color to my lips.

But what happens when your favorite make up product is out?  You run to the store and beeline to the make up section:

And that is exactly what I did, when I needed to replace some of my favorites.  But I spotted some new items I had not seen before that I just had to try:

-Olay Ultra Moisture Beauty Bar-made with Shea Butter.  I use to use regular soap for my face but regular soap is not made for your face.  It left it dry.
-Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream-moisturizes and takes care of wrinkles, YES PLEASE!  I love how this cream smells.

 Olay has many products.  I have been using them for years now, remember a couple of years ago I started using the Olay Total Effects line.  Another birthday is coming this week and even though I am turning another year older, I know that I have been helping my skin.

My thoughts-I like Olay products.  They are Dermatologically tested.  The product is priced well.  If you liked Olay than you will like these new products.  Products are oil free which is great because I always suffer from the T-zone and lately have been having a very oily face.

Leslie Grace with Olay, Pantene, & COVERGIRL

For last night’s show at #PremiosJuventud 2012, upcoming artist, Leslie Grace (Dominicana) performed her first single “Will You Still Love Me ,” which mixes the rhythms of bachata with a flavor of the 60s. She wanted her look to resemble a diva from 60s but at the same time, looking modern, youthful and natural for these youth awards.

 These tips are being shared on behalf of her makeup artist and stylist, Annexie:
Face
· First, I applied Olay Total Effects Daily Moisturizer to prep her skin and give her a soft and fresh look. Then, I applied Olay Total Effects Line & Dark Circle Minimizing Brush under her eyes to minimized dark circles. Then, I used a little of Simply Ageless Eye Concealer in light medium 215 because it provides great coverage! I love it for day and night!
· Then I used COVERGIRL and Olay Simply Ageless foundation 255 Soft Honey. Afterwards, I applied COVERGIRL Cheekers Blush in Plumberry Glow 140 to her cheek bones to add a soft rosy glow to her already beautiful and tan skin tone. I finished the face with COVERGIRL Clean Oil Control Pressed Powder to reduce the brightness of the skin and have her camera ready.

Eyes
· I used Eye Enhancers 4-Kit Shadows in Blossom 257 on her crease to brighten her eye color. This color looks fantastic on her! For her lashes, I used LashBlast Fusion Mascara in Very Black 800 because I wanted to achieve a intense, bright eye. This mascara provides great volume and made her lashes look longer.
Lips
· I finished the look with a nude lip color using COVERGIRL Lip Perfection Lipcolor in Delish 255 to give her a neutral tone and this way I made emphasis on her 60s eyes.

Hair
· She decided to go with a pony tail that she was going to transform in an updo hair style to achieve that 60s look during her performance so I gave her a finishing touch. I liberally sprayed Pantene Anti-Humidity Hairspray all over her hair to help her keep the style in place all night.

My thoughts-I like this combo.  It is a perfect combination.  Check out my 1st picture where I have no make up.  You can see my different tones in my face.  In the 2nd picture, I have complete coverage.  No more 2 tones, discolorations, and racoon eyes.  It gave me a perfectly even tone all over my face.  In the 3rd picture, I completed the look with other CoverGirl products.  I like the complete, natural looking finish look.  I do not feel like am caked on with make up nor does it look caked on..

Face:

Songstress, Shaila Durcal’s glamorous look for Premio Lo Nuestro was inspired by the performance of the remix of her third single “Tanto Amor” and was created to smoothly transition from the red carpet to the live stage. Shaila’s dress for the performance was a one-of-a-kind creation with a corset, numerous layers of black tulle, and a striking metallic blue application. The stage was artistically set to appear as a painter’s studio.
SKIN CARE
· The key to a beautiful look starts with great skin. To create Shaila’s gorgeous glow Ariel used Olay Total Effects Age Defying Wet Cleansing Cloths to hydrate and clean the skin.

· To moisturize the skin Ariel applied Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Revolution Complex, which instantly smoothes away the look of fine lines and wrinkles so she was camera ready.

MAKEUP

HAIR

· Then, he rolled up hair section by section and pin set it until the very last moment. As Shaila was almost ready to go, Ariel released all pins and shook her hair in place with his fingers.

Our thoughts-I like that the brush really does clean my face. Previous product I had tested did not feel as good as this one does, when compared to each other. My husband tried the cleansing system and he said this is the one he preferred. He said his skin felt so clean after he used the cleansing system. It has 2 speeds that you control. I like the exfoliater that comes with the brush. It is a do-it-yourself cleansing system that won't break your budget, no more expensive facials.
