OUTLAST™ Hand Sanitizer review

Do you have kids? Do you worry about germs? Have you heard of viruses and H1N1, etc? I worry that my family will get the flu. I worry that son will not wash his hands and catch a cold. Have you ever thought where germs are lurking? Thanks to MomSelect I received an OUTLAST™ Hand Sanitizer party kit. I provided samples for my guests. We also received facts facts, tips, and games to play during our party. We learned that germs lurk on our purses. I did a test to see where everyone would put their purse during the party. I watch and took notes. Even though I had cleaned my bar and counter 2 people put their purses on there. I had 2 others put their purses on the table we were sitting at. Most just dropped their purses on the floor next to them. Everyone was very shocked to hear the germs that they are carrying on their purses. It was a very fun and educational night for everyone.

Learn more about OUTLAST™ Hand Sanitizer by reading the frequently ask questions from their website:

How does OUTLAST™ Hand Sanitizer work?
OutLast™ Hand Sanitizer kills the vast majority of germs instantly due to the presence of ethyl alcohol, and it continues to provide antimicrobial effects for up to six hours. Scientists discovered a way to blend common preservatives at low concentrations to continue controlling germs for up to six hours. This patented Viacydin® technology can continue to control germs for up to six hours.

What makes OutLast™ Hand Sanitizer different from other over-the-counter hand sanitizers that lack persistence?
Other hand sanitizers that lack persistence kill germs quickly, but as soon as a contaminated surface is touched, new germs are transferred to the hands. What separates OutLast™ Hand Sanitizer from other alcohol-based hand sanitizers is its patented formula, which provides the ability to control harmful germs for up to six hours.

Is OutLast™ Hand Sanitizer used by doctors, nurses and other health care workers?
Yes, the OutLast™ Hand Sanitizer formula has been used in hospitals for years. Surgeons and other clinicians rely on the formula because it is extremely effective - in not just killing harmful germs, but in providing hours-long persistence during surgical and related medical procedures.

Is OutLast™ Hand Sanitizer safe for use on children?
OutLast™ Hand Sanitizer can be used safely on children age 2 and older with adult supervision. It should not be used on infants under 2 years of age. The formula has been tested for safety and skin irritation and is safe when used as directed. OutLast™ Hand Sanitizer, as well as other hand sanitizers that contain ethyl alcohol, should be used only on intact skin.

What harmful germs that can cause illness does OutLast™ Hand Sanitizer kill?
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration does not permit manufacturers to make claims against specific types of germs. To minimize the spread of illness, consumers should practice good hand hygiene and follow other infection-control guidelines recommended by doctors. When soap and water are not available, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer like OutLast™ hand Sanitizer can be an important part of good hand hygiene.

Why do you need alcohol in a Hand Sanitizer?
Ethyl alcohol is an important ingredient because it kills germs on contact. The Centers for Disease Control recommends using alcohol-based instant hand sanitizers when soap and water are not readily available. However, although alcohol kills germs instantly, it quickly loses its effectiveness. OutLast™ Hand Sanitizer contains ethyl alcohol for an immediate kill, but then controls for up to six hours due to its patented Viacydin® technology.

How should I use OutLast™ Hand Sanitizer?
Apply a small amount of the product and wet your hands thoroughly. Rub hands together briskly until dry. It is important to reapply OutLast™ to your dry hands after washing with soap and water. Adults should always supervise children in the use of the product.

Is OutLast™ Hand Sanitizer active against H1N1 (Swine Flu) or MRSA?
No hand sanitizer is indicated for the prevention of H1N1 or MRSA. However, one of the ways to protect yourself from germs is to practice good hand hygiene. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises people to stay healthy by: Covering your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, and throwing the tissue in the trash after you use it. Washing your hands frequently with soap and water or using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available. Avoiding touching your eyes, nose or mouth - because this is often how germs are spread. Staying home if you are sick and limiting contact with others.

How do some infectious respiratory diseases spread?
According to the Centers for Disease Control, the main way that respiratory illnesses like colds and flu are spread is from person to person in respiratory droplets of coughs and sneezes. This can happen when an infected person coughs or sneezes, and the droplets move through the air and are inhaled or deposited on the mouth or nose of people nearby. Sometimes germs also can be spread when a person touches respiratory droplets from another person on a surface like a desk or door handle and then touches his or her own eyes, mouth or nose before washing their hands. Some germs can live two hours or longer on surfaces like cafeteria tables, doorknobs and desks.

What is the best way to practice hand hygiene?
Wash your hands with soap and water, especially when they are visibly dirty, and wash for 15 to 20 seconds. When soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Due to its immediate effect and persistence, OutLast™ Hand Sanitizer can be an important part of good hand hygiene when soap and water are not readily available. Tests indicate that OutLast™ can continue controlling germs for up to six hours. (Sing the Happy Birthday song)

Unforgettable You Book Review

Daisy Fuentes has been redefining health, fashion, beauty and fitness for almost 20 years. From MTV to network television, a slew of cable series and specials, she has the ability to move seamlessly between music, fashion, fitness and style, and to own these categories as a host, expert and guide. In her new book, Daisy offers advice, personal stories, and tips from other celebrities on how to become unforgettable.

Daisy is a Latina I admire. She has done it all. She reveals a new side to us in this book. Unforgettable You: Master the Elements of Style, Spirituality, and True Beauty is a book I recommend every lady out there should read, expecially my Latinas. Growing up my mom was too busy working to girl talk with me about different topics. I grew up thinking the outside beauty made a person vain. But now I see how outside beauty can help someone's self esteem. A touch of lip gloss, some curls, and a small heel can do so much for me. Inner beauty is important as well. But in order for someone to feel beautiful, they must be content with themselves. I sometimes have not been. As I started reading Daisy's book I starting asking so many questions to myself. Her book was so interactive that I was able to kinda use it as a self-help book for myself. Many people around me would describe me as bubbly, active, and loud. I am very shy. Just yesterday we went to a parent meeting for my son's youth group. We were asked to say our name, and something about ourselves. My voice started cracking and I was so nervous I could bearly answer. I did what Daisy says in her book. I sat around and watched everyone. By the end of the evening, I was having small talk with a few people and felt more comfortable. I learned so much about myself reading this book. I loved all the quotes, and tips. Seeing life through someone who has seen alot help me open my eyes. Daisy made me feel like if I knew her personally and we were girl talking the entire time I was reading the book. I recommend this book.
