iRestore Hair Growth Serum Review

I did not know about all the crazy quirks after having a baby.  I guess when I had my son I was so young, things went over my head.  My pregnancies where each special but very different.  I was much younger with my son and much older with my daughter.  I had heard that some ladies lose or shed hair after having a baby but I was born with a full head of hair for two people and I never noticed if it did the first time.  But the next time around, I did start to lose my hair and I felt like it was not growing.
Thanks to iRestore for sending sample product for review.  All opinions stated are my own based on my personal experience.

I have been trying different things to try and get my full head hair back.  I stopped getting hair cuts thinking that it would get fuller that way.  I chopped it off to try and start all over.  I figured it was damaged and it needed to be restored.  I have tried different shampoos, conditioners, and treatments.

In trying different products I was offered to sample iRestore hair growth serum.  It seemed easy to use and why not try it.  You gently massage into the scalp, I could do that.  It is all natural, preservative free, has no odor, and no side effects.  It can be used by men and women.

The Hair Growth Serum was developed using an advanced thickening formula, Redensyl®, that is clinically proven to stimulate hair growth for both men and women who suffer from alopecia.  The Hair Growth Serum is formulated with patented molecules, Redensyl® and Vitamin E & B, designed to reactivate hair stem cell activity and nourish hair follicles to promote optimal hair growth.  By applying 1ml two times a day directly onto the scalp in areas of hair loss, users can expect to see significant visible results in as little as three months.

After only using the product several weeks, I believe the product is working for me.  I just got a haircut too.  I had been afraid of getting haircuts in an effort to preserve what hair I do have left. I can wait to see the results after 3 full months of use.

The iRestore Hair Growth Serum is developed and made in the United States.  It is sold for $39.99 for a 2oz. / 60ml bottle.

Pampers Firsts - A Newborn Journey

***Disclosure-This is a sponsored post.  I received a Pampers party kit and compensation.  All opinions stated are my own based on my personal experience.

I remember the first time I felt my body different.  A person inside of me.  I remember the first confirmation I received that I was pregnant.  My first doctor's appointment, my first ultrasound, and so many other firsts.  I remember my first pregnancy.  I love all my firsts....they are special to me and I love remembering them.

Thanks to Pampers for allowing me to host a #PampersFirsts Viewing party.  Pampers has been a part of so many of our firsts memories.  They understand our joys.  Through our journey, they have been there.  Pampers has just released a new video called "Firsts".  Warning, it is a tear jerker.

Thanks to the ladies who joined me for brunch on Sunday.  A group of ladies that included mamis-to-be and even a first time mom.  We share our stories about pregnancy, labor, and delivery.  We watched the video and then discussed our "firsts".
Every attendee received a goodie bag which included a pack of Pampers swaddlers and baby wipes.
Did you know Pampers® Swaddlers are now available through size 6?
-We have big babies in our family.  Size 6 is 35+
-Swaddlers offers up to 12 hours of overnight protection.
-My husband was a first time father.  He was so scared about everything.  Especially changing diapers of a little girl.  The  color changing wetness indicator was my husband's savior.  All he had to do was check to see if the indicator had changed colors and he knew is the baby was wet or not.

My guests and I will be filling  out a quick review of Pampers Swaddlers diapers at Pampers.com.

Have you joined Pampers Rewards?  Did you know you can get points for watching the above video?
Click the “Watch and Earn” link in the video (note: the link is only visible on your desktop or YouTube mobile app), then log in to your Pampers Rewards account and you will be rewarded with 10 points automatically!

I am glad I was able to introduce the new mami-to-be to Pampers Rewards, answer questions and concerns she had, and mami chat with the other mamis about our experiences as mamis.

Beginning February 16th, create and share your own journey of Firsts at pampersfirsts.com.

They have developed a micro-site that will allow you to upload images of your baby from your computer or pick from your Facebook gallery and create a :15 second video to share out with friends on Twitter or Facebook.  The video will highlight the baby photos and all your first milestone moments.

No matter what method of diapering you choose to use on your babies, you always remember you "firsts".

Skin Care Sunday-Bio-Oil

***Disclosure-Sample product was received for review.  All opinions stated are based on my own personal experience.

Since 2008, Pregnancy Awareness Month (May) has been empowering pregnant women and new families to easily adopt healthy routines into their lives.  Through education, exercise, nutrition, wellness and nurture, PAM helps women make healthy changes for themselves and their families.

As America’s #1 selling multi-use skincare oil and a must-have for moms-to-be, Bio-Oil is proud to support PAM for the second year in a row.  Together, PAM and Bio-Oil are helping pregnant women stay healthy from the inside out.

This is me at my baby shower carrying my daughter.  I was huge but so proud of my beautiful belly.

Did you know that Bio-Oil helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone with the unique formulation of Vitamins A & E, Lavender, Calendula and Rosemary oils, Chamomile extract and breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil.  The essential product treats aging and dehydrated skin and protects against moisture loss.

I was introduced to Bio-Oil late after my pregnancy and heard of many of my friends who used it and swore by it.  I am still trying to return to my normal self.

When the body expands faster than the covering skin, the skin tears, forming a scar as it heals. These scars are visible on the surface of the skin as stretch marks.
The likelihood of developing stretch marks varies according to skin type, race, age, diet and hydration of the skin. Those most prone to stretch marks include pregnant women, body builders, adolescents undergoing sudden growth spurts and individuals who experience rapid weight gain.
Stretch marks are permanent in nature, and although Bio‑Oil is formulated to help improve their appearance, it can never remove them.

My total was stretched out and now I am trying to lose all that baby and excess weight I have gained.

Bio‑Oil should be massaged in a circular motion into the stretch marks, twice daily, for a minimum of 3 months. During pregnancy, it should be applied from the start of the second trimester to areas that are prone to stretch marks such as the abdomen, breasts, lower back, hips, buttocks and thighs.

Even though I may not go to 100% baby smooth skin, next time I will know try Bio-Oil.

Driving Safety Tips for Pregnant Women

Most moms are told exactly what to do when baby arrives, but what about while pregnant?

Chevy is reminding moms-to-be some safe ways to drive while pregnant. Especially for mom-to-be on the go.

Tips

·         Wearing your safety belt is still the first thing anyone should do when they get into a vehicle and it doesn’t change when you're pregnant.  To properly fasten your safety belt while pregnant, pull the safety belt across your body so the shoulder strap fits directly over your shoulder and across your chest and the lap belt is located under your baby bump so it sits low and across your pelvic bone.  Pregnant women should avoid placing the lap belt directly across the tummy. And don’t put the shoulder strap behind your back – both portions of the safety belt are important in keeping you safe in the event of a crash.
·         While driving a vehicle during pregnancy, women should be sure to have the following stored in their vehicle: a towel or two, plastic bag (garbage bag works well), change of clothes and water.  This will help ensure that no matter what happens, you will be prepared in case of an emergency or if you go into labor while in the vehicle. Keep in mind it’s always good to be with someone if you are close to your due date or take a break and let someone drive for you. ·         If you are an active OnStar subscriber, advisors are available 24/7 in the case of a road side emergency, including assisting a woman in labor, contacting emergency medical help and providing directions to the nearest medical facility.
 ·         Be sure to stay focused with both hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.  Avoid talking on cell phones or other distractions like digging through your purse and never text while driving (that’s a bad idea for all drivers). , You are driving for two now and keeping you and your baby safe is key.
·         Before you bring your baby home, go to a local car seat check before the baby arrives to learn how to properly use your child restraint.

To find a car seat check in your area or get more information on child safety, go to www.safekids.org

So breastfeeding is my thing -NOW- not then, learning to breastfeed, the secrets, and having a support gorup really made a huge difference this time around.  Sometimes new moms do not have all the information they need and even seasoned moms.  Books filled with lots of information can really help a new breastfeeding mom along her journey.

Let me introduce you to Amy Spangler, world-renowned expert in breastfeeding & nutrition, president of BabyGooroo.com and author of various books. Amy has a great selection of great baby and mom products like these below:

Road to Marathon

So before I was pregnant I could run, not breaking records but I would do 5Ks, 10Ks, and even some half marathons.  While I was pregnant I was unable to workout, exercise, and bearly allowed to walk.  And my recovery from my c-section has been a hard one.  I started walking and doing Zumba after 6 weeks.  Even though it has been hard to get back into the routine of things, I have tried my best to at least do something every week.
This is me and baby Gia.  Our first official walk, 5 miles.  She did really good, and I even better because I crossed the finish line.

This is my husband, baby Gia, and me after my first 5K of the year.  Yes, you read that right.  3.1 miles, and I crossed the finish line in 40 minutes.  My husband had a foot injury so he pushed the baby in the stroller and once she woke up, she wanted to get in her Britax carrier.  It was an awesome feeling crossing that line once again.

This is what I am doing:

Monday-Treadmill 1 hr, Zumba 1 hr
Tuesday-Walk 3 miles
Wednesday-Run/Jog, Walk 2.88 miles
Thursday-Walk 3 miles
Saturday-Zumba 1 hr

This is my schedule that I am suppose to follow every week.  Some weeks I do it all, some weeks I only do one day, but I do something.  I have not lost any weight.  I cannot diet because I am breastfeeding.  But my time is getting better and better.

My biggest supporter and coach has been my husband.  He is helping me every step of the way.  He walks with me on Tuesday and Thursdays.  My bestfriend works out with me on Mondays.  And so are my co-workers.  We have started a running team. Even though right now our motto is to Run, Jog, Walk, or Crawl~to the finish line, and of course to have fun doing it!  After work on Wednesday, we go to the park accross the street and run together.  While we all start together, we do not finish together.  But we are all there at the end.  And we have every fitness level from beginners to advance.  The point is a have a great support group.

My first goal is to finish a 5K in under 30 minutes.

So follow along my road back.  Every month I will update where I am, if I have lost any weight and update you on my races.  Accountability can make someone accomplish their goals, so check on me, ask me, give me advice, etc..

Do you run/jog/walk?  Do you have a goal?  Do you have a suggestion or advice for me?  I would love to hear your comments, questions, or concerns...

SpermCheck® Fertility Review

Planning to get pregnant and having issues? Introducing SpermCheck® Fertility, the only FDA approved, at-home screening test to determine normal or low sperm count; fast, accurate and affordable, now available online from Walgreens.com and CVS.com.
This year, approximately 7 million couples will experience conception issues. A key first step, before the female goes through a battery of tests, is to analyze the male’s sperm count, yet less than one-fifth of men (17%) ever get tested for their sperm count, according to the new SpermCheck Fertility survey.
Now with a new at-home test kit called SpermCheck® Fertility, men can test their sperm count in the privacy of their home. SpermCheck Fertility is the only FDA approved, 98% accurate home test for men – it’s as accurate as a lab test but more affordable and convenient. In just 10 minutes, the easy-to-read results indicate a normal or below normal sperm count. The SpermCheck® Fertility test costs substantially less than a visit to the doctor without the embarrassment and indignities of providing a semen sample to a doctor or nurse.

Experts agree that a sperm count test should be the very first and essential step in fertility testing for couples – it’s non-invasive and can help eliminate or identify a potential stumbling block to conception.
Whether you are planning a pregnancy in the near future or have been trying to conceive, this inexpensive home test can help couples to save time, money and frustration.

Why SpermCheck® Fertility?

•SpermCheck® Fertility FDA approved

•SpermCheck® Fertility is as accurate as lab testing – 98% accurate •SpermCheck® Fertility is private and convenient – done in the privacy of your own home •SpermCheck® Fertility is affordable —just $39.99 •SpermCheck® Fertility is fast and easy – provide easy to read results in 10 minutes
SpermCheck® Fertility is currently available online at www.Walgreens.com and www.CVS.com and began to be available in Walgreens stores nationwide in April 2012. Suggested retail price is $39.99. For more information about SpermCheck® Fertility, visit www.spermcheck.com. For the latest information on store availability, news and special giveaway offers, join our Facebook community .

My thoughts-My husband and I had a tough time getting pregnant.  We started stressing out.  We did not know where or what was going on wrong.  My sister in law went to a doctor and had a sperm count done which hit her wallet pretty hard, those things can be pretty pricy.  We didnt, we just went blindy trying over and over.  Until it worked.  But now moms and dads have an option that is not expensive at all.  And when everything seems hopeless, there is a little help to get you through the tunnel.  It is easy to use.  Everything comes in the kit.  And it literally does take 10 minutes.  If you are trying to get pregnant and need this test, they are available in stores now.

The Daily Sweat Pregnancy Program: Expecting More Review

The prenatal fitness guru and new mom Sara Haley has launched her new DVD, The Daily Sweat Pregnancy Program: Expecting More.

As a Reebok Global Master Trainer and renowned international fitness consultant, Haley sought out an exercise regimen that would be challenging and safe for her and her baby throughout pregnancy. After finding mostly prenatal yoga options and workouts for beginners, she set out to create a program that could keep women of all fitness levels sexy and strong with a wide variety of options like cardio dance, sports drills and pilates.

With six different workouts and a calendar to guide you through all three trimesters, Expecting More™ offers what no other prenatal exercise DVD has before – variety, inspiration, and workouts for all fitness levels. Join Sara, as she stays fit and energized during her own pregnancy, and get your Daily Sweat on!

My thoughts-I have found a new love in running over the past couple years.  Exercise is no longer exercise to me.  It is part of my life.  A year ago when I found out I was pregnant I especially wanted to be healthy not just for myself but for my baby.  I did not know what exercises I could do, or how much to do.  I asked the doctor, trainers, and etc... and now I have found a dvd for preggos.  I really like how this dvd guides you and helps you stay physical.  It even comes with a calendar for you to keep up with your workouts.  A schedule, with my preggo brain definitely needed.  The dvd is simple and easy to follow.  And it is good to know that you wont be hurting yourself or the baby trying to stay healthy and fit.  Once I got pregnant I was no longer able to run and this is perfect for at home.  After having the baby through a c-section being physical has been really hard.  And this dvd has allowed me to start to get back into my routine.  My favorite is the cardio dance.

High-Risk Pregnancy: Why Me?

Most of you who read my blog know that I ended up having a high-risk pregnancy. And being informed to me is the best for these moms. I know for sure, I wanted to read and know all the facts. What caused it? What happened? What could I have done? So I am passing this information along...

Understanding and Managing a Potential Preterm Pregnancy
Every year, 1 million U.S. women with high-risk pregnancies are placed on bed rest to protect their developing babies. Despite that, every year, about 500,000 newborns – one of every eight – arrive too early, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

Enduring a high-risk pregnancy can be an overwhelming experience of stress, fear and unknowns, leading to more questions than answers. Many of these moms adhere to strict regimes of bed rest; face major changes in lifestyle and relationships; and are subject to dozens of doctor visits and even surgery or medications to protect their unborn children. For them, birth may not be the joy-filled event most families expect.

Knowing those feelings all too well, research scientist Kelly Whitehead wrote High-Risk Pregnancy: Why Me? Understanding and Managing a Potential Preterm Pregnancy (www.hrpwhyme.com), which is backed by fetal and maternal medicine specialist Dr. Vincenzo Berghella, a top pre-term birth researcher. Whitehead’s first child died following his premature birth. During her next pregnancy, she spent 4½ months in bed worrying over and trying to protect her daughter.

The book is both a medical reference and provides emotional support for mothers-to-be, with Whitehead providing answers in layman’s terms to the myriad medical questions families have. Whitehead also shares coping strategies she discovered, along with what she’s learned through benefit of hindsight, and insights from other mothers.
• Try to enjoy being pregnant. Don’t miss out on this experience because you’re high-risk. Do the normal prego things, even if you have to modify them: Shop online, get a belly cast, shoot expanding-belly photos, and savor those kicks and body changes. Don’t forget or stop dreaming about the actual birth and your desires for what it will be like. I regretted missing out on so much while carrying my daughter. Rather than enjoying the pregnancy, I kept focused on the end and my hope she would survive.
• Don’t let your emotions become your enemy. Say goodbye to guilt – this is not your fault! It’s okay to be bitter, angry and upset at the world, and to hate “normal” pregnant women, but it isn’t going to change anything. So go get mad, yell, and cry, and then move on.
• Pelvic rest sounds easy, but it isn’t. It’s not fun being forced to become a nun, so don’t. There are still ways to enjoy intimacy; you just need to get creative. Think high school – remember how much fun necking was? Try body oil, a massage…whipped cream? Sexy lingerie is still hot, even if you’re pregnant. Flaunt your new assets - they surely went up a cup size or two.
• Educate yourself about your situation. Don’t go reading about every other possible scenario out there; you don’t need to worry about problems that aren’t a likely issue for you.
• Ask and you shall receive. It may sometimes feel as though people have forgotten about you, but the reality is they’re busy and they have no idea what’s it’s like for you. If you want company, reach out and invite someone over.
“I know it’s tough to be going through a high-risk pregnancy and living in fear every day,” Whitehead says. “Though this will be the toughest time of your life, many of us have been through it and now have our children. You can, too.

“Keep your chin up and keep hoping. Healthy babies are born every day to families who’ve walked the same path.”

Pregnancy Diaries ~ To bleed or not to bleed

So my C-section went fine but did I tell you I almost died. My c-section went fine so I thought. I was sent to recovery for an hour, and then moved to my own room. As family and friends came to check on me, and the baby, something was going on without me really knowing. Hours after my c-section something went totally wrong. I was visitng with family when I felt something come out of me. I paged for my nurse. My family was asked to step out for a minute. The nurse came in to check on me, and then the chaos began. I was bleeding out. Blood clots were coming out. The doctor was paged. And then they began taking out the "blood clots" one by one out of me by hand. It was so painful. 3 doctors, dozen of blood clots, and what looked like a crime scene later, it was finally over. But as they checked my blood count, they learned I had lost more than half of my blood that I came in with. I had to have a blood tranfussion that took 6 hours to get into my body. I died and came back I tell myself. It was the worse thing ever. Just when I thought everything was fine, I had spoke too soon, but I am glad that I was at the hospital and that they saved my life.

So when you think something is wrong, make sure you tell someone. Dont be embarrased or afraid to ask if something is normal. The hospital I delivered at is a Trauma hospital so they are use to seeing things like these but I know I was the talk of the hospital, and everyone is still talking about my hemmoraging.

Pregnancy Diaries ~ I survived my C-section

So I was told I was going to have a c-section. What is a c-section?

From Wikipedia,

A Caesarean section, (also C-section, Caesarian section, Cesarean section, Caesar, etc.) is a surgical procedure in which one or more incisions are made through a mother's abdomen (laparotomy) and uterus (hysterotomy) to deliver one or more babies, or, rarely, to remove a dead fetus. A late-term abortion using Caesarean section procedures is termed a hysterotomy abortion and is very rarely performed. The first modern Caesarean section was performed by German gynecologist Ferdinand Adolf Kehrer in 1881.

A Caesarean section is usually performed when a vaginal delivery would put the baby's or mother's life or health at risk, although in recent times it has been also performed upon request for childbirths that could otherwise have been natural.

I had Placenta Previa and was told from the beginning that I would need one. My placenta was blocking my cervis. So if the baby decided to come, or I started getting contractions, the baby would not be able to come out. So here is my story from my eyes:

I had my last visit with my doctor Monday the 19th, where I was told what time to show up, where, what, how, and why. So I was told not to eat anything after midnight on Wednesday the 21st. Since we did not know if we would be missing Christmas with the family we had Christmas Dinner that night. We could not sleep that night. We were up still packing or trying to pack. We dosed off, dont know what time but set our clocks for 1 1/2 hours before our appointment.
December 22nd-That morning we could not wake up. It was hard. We were tired, very tired. We started loading up the truck, which we should have done the night before. We showered and got dressed. My bestfriend wanted to go with us, so we scooped her up. We then headed to the hospital. We never took a tour so we were just winging it to where we needed to be. We found the registration area, even though we were late for our 9:30 am appointment. I was asked for my ID and insurance card. Again I forgot my insurance card, but it was ok since it was on file. If not, not sure what we would have had to have done. I was checked in, and there was no turning back. They called my name and took me to prep.
I was tagged, Iv attached, and consulted by nurses, and anesthesiologist. I was scared. I was nervous. My husband went and grabbed some quick breakfast while this was being done. Then our family started to arrive to wish us well, and to pray for us. I am so glad they showed up for support not just for me but for my husband. This is his first baby. So of we go. I was taken into the operating room, very scary place. My husband again waited until he was called. The nurses from before were all in there. The anesthesiologist started getting me ready. I was given a spinal block. What is a Spinal block?

From Wikipedia

Spinal anaesthesia (or spinal anesthesia), also called spinal analgesia[citation needed] or sub-arachnoid block (SAB), is a form of regional anaesthesia involving injection of a local anaesthetic into the subarachnoid space, generally through a fine needle, usually 9 cm long (3.5 inches).

Difference from epidural anaesthesia

Epidural anaesthesia is a technique whereby a local anaesthetic drug is injected through a catheter placed into the epidural space. This technique has some similarity to spinal anaesthesia, and the two techniques may be easily confused with each other. Differences include:

-The involved space is larger for an epidural, and subsequently the injected dose is larger, being about 10–20 mL in epidural anaesthesia compared to 1.5–3.5 mL in a spinal.

-In an epidural, an indwelling catheter may be placed that avails for additional injections later, while a spinal is almost always a one-shot only.

-The onset of analgesia is approximately 15–30 minutes in an epidural, while it is approximately 5 minutes in a spinal.

-An epidural often does not cause as significant neuromuscular block unless specific local anaesthetics are used which block motor fibres as readily as sensory nerve fibres, while a spinal more often does.

-An epidural may be given at a cervical, thoracic, or lumbar site, while a spinal must be injected below L2 to avoid piercing the spinal cord.

My friend had told me her spinal block was great. It worked fast and afterwards she was able to recover faster. And she was right. As soon as they did it, I got numb from the boobies down to my toes. I did not feel a thing. All I felt was the table rocking.
My arms were spread eagle for the procedure. And someone had told me you shake and I did. I had asked the anesthesiologist why this happens and he explained that it is a common side affect of the medicine or also because the OR is kept cold your body will shake after you have the baby. You go from carrying a baby to not, you loose blood, the placenta comes out, etc... I shook cause I was really cold. It all went really fast but then really slow, if you know what I mean. I went in, and next thing you know we are there, and its happening and you are just in shock that it is happening. The procedure started, and that fast the baby was born.
At 10:18 am, my lil bit was born. Then it took until 10:45 for me to be sown back up and the c-section to be over. I was in recovery by 11 am. I did not feel when the baby came out. I only heard them say it. Then afterwards my husband came and showed me our baby. I heard what the doctors were saying and in the end they came and told me congratulations and that everything went well.

Pregnancy Diaries ~ What to pack for the hospital ~ Mommy Bag

Mommy bag needs to be packed and ready to go. You need to have it ready because you do not know when the baby will come. I suggest you pack 1 month before. I was due on January 12. Then I was told I would have my C-section on January 5. And then surprised with, the date being moved to December 22. I had one week to get everything ready and trust me, we were not ready for all the things we were about to face. I asked my friends and goggled what to pack since it has been a long time. There are items you will and will not need. Some people have preferences of items but my checklist before and after are totally different. I packed some things I did not need and did not pack all I needed. Here are my suggestions (keep in mind I was a planned c-section):

Checking In-
-Admission forms or registration papers-my doctor registered me so I did not need to bring any papers.
-Insurance card-with the rush of everything I forgot mine but luckily my information was pre-registered into their system. Again luckily!
-Picture ID-I was asked for this for registration and then after when we were being discharged.

Labor-
-Lip balm/chapstick-Your lips will get dry. Mine were not that bad at first.
-Hair bands or clips-You will want to have your hair pulled back for your entire stay, during labor and delivery, and when visitors show up. Pulling it back is as much as you can do.

Delivery-
-Camera-You will want to capture every moment possible. Don't forget to charge or bring batteries.

For Your Stay
-Toiletries-toothpaste/tooth brush, small shower items (shampoo), my hospital provided Dial soap in my shower. And they had plenty of towels. You will want to take a shower before you leave or during your stay. Bring a hair brush to comb out your hair. Dont forget the deoderant.
-Outfit to wear home–Check the weather and make sure you pack something that will be comfortable. I wore leggings, a nursing gown, small sweater, socks, and slippers.
-Don't forget the nursing bra if you will nurse. Or a comfy bra.
-Compression socks-My feet were and are still swollen. My compression socks have helped keep the swelling down.

For Your Partner's Stay-
-Toiletries-You and husband can share, so pack wisely
-Change of clothes-My husband brought comfies to sleep in, and gym shorts for the day.

Here are items I suggest you dont need, you may want to pack, but I didnt need them.
-Bathrobe-I used an extra hospital gown as mine. Plus everyday the hospital gave me a clean one.
-Non-skid slippers or socks-The hospital gave me some.
-Nightgown-I slept in my hospital gown everyday. I got a clean one everyday. Plus in my situation I would have ruined my clothes. It was easier access for me with the IVs I was connected to.
-Makeup bag-I did not have time to get all dolled up during my stay. Even when we were leaving it was not a priority.
-Pillow-I had 2 pillows provided by the hospital. And so did my husband.
-“Granny” panties-The hospital provides disposable underwear. And it is wonderful. It fits over your incision and your belly.
-Pads-My hospital provided me with 3 different sizes, all I had to do was ask for more.
-Nursing Pads-My hospital provided them for me. They even gave me Lanolin.
-Extra blanket/s-My hospital provided me and my husband with extra, we just had to ask. Your husband may want to bring a nice warm one with a soft pillow, just for comfort.
-Snacks-I could not before I arrived to the hospital and for 24 hours after. But when I could order my food, I ordered plenty and then some. You may not like the food from the hospital so my only suggestion would be for someone to bring you outside food for you and your husband.

Again, these are only suggestions. I over packed some things I did not need and did not pack what I really needed. I hope this helps.

Pregnancy Diaries ~ Maternity Pics

So this week I am 36 weeks pregnant, and I have not taken any pregnancy pictures. With my son, I never took any pics and I have about 3 total with my little bump. This time I told myself I would embrace the belly no matter how small or big I got. One thing though, I did not want to spend an arm and a leg for them. I have wonderful friends who love to take pictures and they always come out awesome. See I think they take better pictures than professionals because they know how we want to look in the pics. So I asked my bestfriend to take my pictures, and here are her creations. What do you think?

I do not think you need a professional. You need someone who can take pics, good camera, and a good location. Find your poses. I looked online, and found some cute ones I could work with. I asked my friend to take them. We drove around looking for great sceneraries and this is what we came up with. Nothing too fancy, but free.

Pregnancy Diaries ~ Baby Bag

So one of the things I need to get ready is the diaper bag for the baby. It has been 13 years since I have done this. So I asked a couple of friends who recently had babies to tell me what do they pack, or what did they pack their baby bag?

Here were the suggestions I received, and what I have packed in my baby's bag:

1) Baby wipes-I did not remember that hospitals only use wet towels to wipe the babies butty.

2) Baby Going Home Outfit-Not sure if it will be cold or not when we come out because our weather is crazy here, so I packed 2. I packed a onesie with sleeves. A cute little top with pant bottoms. I also packed socks, mittens, and a hat. Another thing I packed was a sweater, one with a hoodie and one without.

3) Baby blanket-I am packing a baby blanket to cover her car seat with when leaving the hospital, or cover.

4) Car Seat-Can't leave home without it.

So bare necessities, I understand the hospital gives you diapers, and anything else you need for the baby. So no extra stuff for me...

Am I missing something?

Pregnancy Diaries ~ The baby is coming

So sorry I have been so distant lately but I was told the baby is coming. Shocker, right. If you have been following my pregnancy you know that I have been on high risk the entire time. It has been a very difficult time for myself, my husband, family, friends, and co-workers. At 14 weeks, when I almost lost my baby girl, my world turned upside down. I have been as careful as can be, so that I can go full term to see my baby girl. Well I been under very good care with my OB/GYN and my Fetal Specialist. My visit have been very fun. We get to see the baby and things couldn't have been better when we scheduled our c-section for January 5, 2012. But this week, I went to the doctor and guess what? The baby is coming on Thursday, December 22. Now tell me that you would not be shocked to find this out. We thought we had more time to prepare and get ready but we don't. She will be here in 6 days. So we are rushing to get ready for baby girl. Until next time...

Pregnancy Diaries ~ Week 32

If you are wondering, yes this is me. I am 32 weeks pregnant this week. And I was the Maid of Honor in my bestfriend's wedding this past weekend. It was a wonderful, crazy weekend and we all survived.

Mommy and Baby Update: I went to the doctor last week and everything has not changed. I gained another 3 lbs in these last 2 weeks. On Friday, I went to the Fetal Specialist for an ultrasound. Lil Bit is weighing in at 4 lbs. Just a little over average, so just right. She looks good. Mommy on the other hand still has Placenta Previa. Now the doctors are concerned with the placenta attaching or growing into the Uterus. If this would happen I would have to have a hysterectomy right after I deliver the baby by C-section. So for sure, we are having a C-section. Right now it could be an emergency one or if we make it that far, a scheduled c-section for the first week in January.

Pregnancy Diaries ~ Milk Nursingwear Review and Giveaway***CLOSED***

The founder of Milk is a mother of four beautiful breastfed children.

Her inspiration for Milk came after the birth of her first daughter in 1997. Early on she was introduced to the concept of nursingwear. While she loved the discretion and ease that nursing clothing provided, she did not love the dowdy styling. She wanted to feel attractive and fashionable and believed her clothing should reflect that.

So in June 2000, armed with entrepreneurial spirit, her MBA, experience as a Bloomingdale's buyer and a Marketing Manager, She realized her vision by launching a line of fashion-forward nursingwear. After seven successful years of running that company and bringing fashionable nursingwear to women the world over, She is doing it again now with Milk - better than ever before.
My thoughts-The Milk Nursingwear top is so cute. Nobody can tell that it is a nursing top. I wore it to work and got several compliments. I even think it makes me look skinner, and I am 7 months pregnant. So this top is going to good use now before the birth of my baby and then after the birth, so I can nurse. The slips in concealed and very easy to adjust when needed. The top is made stretchy and it is not uncomfortable at all.

Pregnancy Diaries ~ Week 28

This is me at week 28.

How am I feeling?

I am tired. This last trimester is the one I was dreading the most, and now I see why. I actually am so tired when I hit the bed, I knock out. And when I wake up, I feel like a thousand bricks fell on me. My bones hurt really bad. And not to mention that my feet will not go back to normal. This morning my shows don't even fit. The ones I bought for this pregnancy, one size bigger, with all the cushion, and padding.

How is baby girl?

Her moves are getting more and more visible. Even though she plays hide and go seek with everyone who tries to feel her. Daddy has felt her power a couple of times now. He loves to wake her up, and get her all worked up. it is cute to see them play together.

News?

I am in my bestfrieed's wedding that is in 2 weeks, and I am the Maid of Honor. This weekend was the bachelorette weekend, and I am so glad that is over with. I still have not received my dress, that needs to be severely doctored to fit my 7 month pregnant self. I am trying not to stress over that but we will see how long I can stay this calm.

Dr Visits?

I have a check up scheduled this week with my OB/GYN. We will see what the doctor says. I know I have to go see the Fetal Specialist again but they have not called to schedule my appointment. Can't wait to see baby girl again.

Well until next update...
