Houston-Hot Flashes-Halftees

This is what the weather looks like in Houston this week.  One week it will be cold and feel like Winter.  The next, it feels like Summer has arrived.  We really do not get a real Winter.  And then there is this, cold when the sun is goes, warm when the sun is out.  The wind chill has really made it feel a little cooler than usual.  You have to learn to dress for this weather. 

Layer, so you can strip later.  So I normally wear a jacket or a coat that I can take off once I am indoors.  Sometimes I wear a long sleeve short with an undershirt.  But the mistake with that is that I can get these thing called "hot flashes".  Yes, I am probably premenopausal or my hormones are out of whack.  But I am always hot.  I just moved offices and my new office does not get proper ventilation.  It is a hot box.  So most of the time I wear sleeveless dresses in the office.  The problem I am having with some dresses lately is that it seems I may be showing too much cleavage unintentionally.

What is a girl to do?  I have tried wearing sport bras but that is not comfortable or cute.  The straps do not compliment the dresses.  Wear an undershirt, well that get hot and bunched up underneath.  What if there was a halftee?

Disney Consumer Products Hitting Stores Near You

I recently got a sneak peek at all the new Disney products heading to stores.  It is all so cute, and even momma can get in on some of this action. 

As part of the #DisneyInHomeBloggers, I got a VIP invitation and front row seat to the Disney Fashion Show.  I got to see all the lastest fashion hit this runway.  There was bling, sass, and lots of great looks.  I love the mother-daughter action.  For all those mommas that still have an inner princess inside:

FACE:

Edward Cruz on FACE:
· For her face, I started applying the foundation COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Foundation in Warm Beige #245 to match her exact skin tone and the coverage of the foundation was so great I didn’t have to use a concelear.

· Then, for a more natural look, I applied COVERGIRL's Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Luch Berry #230 on her cheeks. This is one of my favorite products; I found it very smooth and easy to apply with a brush.

· To make Giselle's eyes pop, I began applying COVERGIRL IntenseShadowBlast in Blue Bomb #825 with Brown Bling #815 to the lid area, making sure to use my finger to blend the shadow into the crease. I love this product because it’s a primer and a shadow so you can also build on top of it with dry eye shadow for a lasting look. I used a little of COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers in Sea Glass #120 combined with Ice Princess #230 to seal the look.

· I finished her eyes with COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion in Very Back repeating the process in her upper and lower lashes which I topped with Line Exact Liquidliner in Black.

· I used a more neutral look for her lips with COVERGIRL Lip Perfection lipstick in “Delish” #255. I love the palette of colors of this line of lipsticks because make lips look soft and smooth.

Carlos Vera on HAIR:
· Giselle wanted her beautiful black hair to look very natural and with loose waves, so to seal that look, after blow drying, I asked her to flip her hair upside-down and scrunch hair using a hairspray Cover Girl Medium to Thick Anti-Humidity Hairspray to give her hair a glossy shine wave that will project a natural glow.

· For this occasion Giselle choose a more classic outfit-- Her fabulous black pant suit & shoes Christian Loubiton in silver made her look contemporary but elegant.

SPANISH: Giselle Blondet por el famoso maquillista Edward Cruz y el estilista de celebridades, Carlos Vera

Anoche Giselle eligió un fabuloso conjunto negro de pantalón en una pieza con una dramática apertura en la espalda muy sexy. Se veía muy alta y elegante en sus zapatos plateados de Christian Louboutin.



Edward Cruz - ROSTRO:
· Lo primero que hice fue escoger una base que se asemeja a su tono de piel y elegí la base COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Foundation en tono abano o “Warm Beige #245”, esta base cubrió tan bien su piel que no tuve necesidad de aplicarle corrector.

· Para resaltar las mejillas de Giselle naturalmente usé COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush en tono “Lush Berry #230” y les cuento que este es uno de mis productos favoritos porque es muy fácil de aplicar.

OJOS:
· Para enfocar la atención en los ojos de Giselle, comencé aplicando las sombras COVERGIRL IntenseShadowBlast en tono azul como “Blue Bomb” #825 y la combiné con un tono marron como “Brown Bling” #815 para cubrir la zona del parpado, asegurándome de usar el dedo para mezclar la sombra en todo el pliegue del ojo. Me encanta este producto porque es “primer” y sombra en uno. También me gusta aplicarle encima sombras en polvo para una mirada aun más duradera. A Giselle le coloqué un poco de COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers en los tonos de la combinación de “Sea Glass” #120 y “Dreamy Eyes” #222.

· Para finalizar el maquillaje de sus ojos, apliqué la máscara COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion en negro “Very Back” en las pestañas de arriba y abajo. Completé el look aplicando el delineador de ojos COVERGIRL LiquiLineBlast EyeLiner en negro en la línea superior de las pestañas.

LABIOS:

Get Glam Beauty Event-Latina Magazine

Have you ever watched an award show red carpet event? I have. I love watching and seeing what the stars are wearing. Do you wish you could be on the red carpet? I at least once thought about it, well ok, more than once. Well I was invited to the Get Glam Beauty Event brought to Houston by Latina Magazine. Latina Magazine put out an invitation in their magazine. All guests checked in. We were greeted and offered to step into the green room. The green room had a drink table and tv which played Covergirl commercials of the products going to be used. We then were escorted to a waiting area.This VIP event was great. I first got my hair done. Then I switched chairs and had my make up done. After my look was created, I was able to walk the red carpet and be photographed like the stars do. And so did all the guests who attended this VIP event. We were all treated like stars. If that was not enough, we each received a swag bag with product samples and a copy of Latina Magazine. This is my red carpet look. I think I am ready for my Latina Magazine cover shoot.

Red Carpet Beauty Event

Latina Magazine partnered up with CoverGirl & Herbal Essences this past Valentine’s Day season to bring free red-carpet-beauty makeovers to all of the Latinas in Houston! The makeover day was on Saturday the 12th from 1 to 5pm at the Galleria Mall on Westheimer by Nordstrom. They had over 215 beauty appointments but were even taking walk ins. I was invited to this wonderful event.
