Sofia the First: The Secret Library

***Disclosure-No compensation was received.  Informational post only.

Do you have a Sofia the First fan in your house?  Are they also a Brave fan?
On Monday, October 12, Merida from Disney•Pixar's "Brave" will make an appearance on "Sofia the First: The Secret Library,".  This will be the first episode of a four-part story where Sofia becomes storykeeper of magical books without endings and now, must pursue adventures that will finish the narratives.

How exciting!  I know my little one will be watching.

Also, have you heard of "Dear Sofia"?

Your littles can now write Sofia a letter.  Disney Junior is hoping to inspire the youngest of kids to put pen to paper with "Dear Sofia,".  In today's digital world, the art of the handwritten letter is often lost.  Whether they want to know more about Sofia's home in Enchancia, her friends, or to tell Sofia about their own adventures and send her a picture that they've drawn, Disney Junior is inviting kids to send a hand-written letter to Sofia and receive a response back in the mail.

Please visit DisneyJunior.com/DearSofia for more information.

A Royal Princess Birthday Party

It is really crazy but just as one birthday is finishing my brain already starts planning the next.  My daughter was turning 3 this past December.  Her birthday is 3 days away from Christmas.  So I always like to celebrate her birthday before the Christmas holidays begin.  So invitations were created by my friend and she got it just right.
Next, I need to think of the decorations to convert my house into a castle.  Everything a Royal Princess should need...Her theme was Sofia the First.
A small candy station to greet the guests at the entrance.  A #3 and a crown cut out of corrugated.
I bought this wonderful background from the party store for only $5.99.  It came with 5 plastic signs.  These are perfect for using at the party and in her room decor after the party is over.  I also found some place mats at the dollar store.
I also used my daughter's comforter as another decoration piece.  I hung it over the curtain rod.
I used my daughter's fairy tale princess canopy for the backdrop for the cake table.  My coworker made my daughter's cake.  We used my daughter's Sofia the First doll and made the cake around it.  She made a wonderful base.  I used my daughter's Sofia the First table to prop the cake on top of.  She also made me Princess Amber and Prince James cake pops.  These were a great hit with all the kids and parents.
And my princess had a great time.  For information on my chalkboard wall, check out this post:  Birthday Chalkboard Wall.

Toddler Photo Shoot with Girls Costumes

***Disclosure-Costume was received for review purposes.  All opinions stated are my own based on my personal experience.

I love dress up time with my daughter.  She loves to pretend she is a princess, and sometimes I don't think she is pretending.  She, like most little girls her age, love to play dress up.  Do you have a little girl or boy who loves to play pretend?  Of course, when playing pretend you need to be in character.
Costumes can also be used for great photo shoot options for birthdays, holidays, and everyday pictures.  We recently decided to take our daughter to a new play land that has a castle, dragons, and beautiful landscapes to take pictures.  Who would of thought that the play land in the mall would be a perfect place to take pictures of your kids?  When thinking photo shoot, think about just letting your kiddo have fun and you capturing those moments.
-I have learned that with our daughter it is just better to let her do her thing than asking her to pose and smile.
-With any toddler, be prepared for all things going wrong.
-Bring help.  Mamis, papis, big brothers, and sisters can all join in the fun too!  But they can also be a helping hand when needed.
-Don't get frustrated when the shot your are looking for isn't working.  You can always edit the pictures later.  Just keep the camera shooting, one shot might come out great out of all the outtakes.

We let our daughter just run around this play land and I just shot pictures of her all over.  In some pictures there were kids or parents in the way.

-Remember to pick a time that works out good for you, your kid, and the place you will be using.  I thought showing up early would be perfect but this place is popular as it was already full at opening time.

Everyone loved seeing my daughter in her costume at the play land.  No one else was dressed up except for her.  But her costume was so cute and it went with the castle play land.  We have a poised, little girl who loves the camera, dress up, and the attention!

We had not done a photo shoot with our toddler.  It was fun until it was time to go.  She did not want to leave the onsite location.  But who would want to leave a beautiful play land like this one.  Makes pretending to be a princess so much more real than playing at your house.

Sofia The First: Holiday in Enchancia

***Disclosure-Sample product was received.  All opinions stated are my own based on my own experience.

My daughter is one of the #1 fans of Sofia the First.  She loves watching her on Disney Jr.  If your daughter is a #1 fan as well I have news for you:
Disney Jr. is releasing Sofia The First: Holiday in Enchancia on DVD, Tuesday, November 4th

Deck the halls and ring in the season! It may be the coldest day of winter, but it's also the warmest, merriest adventure ever for SOFIA THE FIRST. Welcome to the most magical time of the year! This is Sofia's first Winter Holiday in the castle with her new family, but when King Roland goes missing in a raging snowstorm, Sofia leaders her mother, Amber and James on a brave expedition aboard a flying sleigh to find him. As the blizzard whirls around them, their hopes are nearly dashed -- until Princess Aurora appears and reminds Sofia that her animal friends might hold the key to finding her dad and reuniting her family. Sparkling with festive fun -- plus four additional song-filled episodes -- HOLIDAY IN ENCHANCIA celebrates the greatest gift of all: spending special days with the people you love!

This is a very cute movie about family.  I love the messages taught in all the episodes.  Holiday In Enchancia was great to watch with our entire family.  We love the songs.  And of course our princess cannot get enough of Sofia The First.

Sofia the First Birthday Party

Today is my daughter's birthday.  She turns 2 years old.  Celebrating her life and what a blessings she has been is always fun for me to plan.  But it can get a little stressful when party planning especially when I am too busy.  I have been working like crazy.  I never have been so behind than this year.  Even the year when I was about to give birth to my beautiful baby, I was not this behind.  But my princess in training should not be left out because mommy is too busy.
So let the party planning begin.  Order party supplies - check
