Sports and outdoors is a big part of our life as a family.  I am so glad that I found a person to share my life with that shares a passion for exercise, fitness, and adventure.  I am glad that we have instilled this in our kids as well.

We are always gym ready and could practically live in our workout gear if allowed.  In the past few years I feel Houston is coming up in the world when it comes to fitness, exercise, and family fun.  There are so many running groups, bike rides, and fun runs.  There is no longer an excuse not to get out.  But of course, you need the right gear for the selfie shot because if it is not on social then it doesn't really count, right? 

Have you seen this blimp flying around the Houston?  Houston, the wait is finally over.  Dick's Sporting Goods has come to Houston.  They opened six new stores in Baybrook, The Shoppes in Parkwest in Katy, Willowbrook Mall, Deerbrook Mall, Woodlands Mall, and First Colony Mall in Sugarland.  Dick's Sporting Goods celebrated their grand openings at each store by throwing unbelievable celebrations.  I attended the grand opening of the Dick's Sporting Goods at The Shoppes in Katy.  I even got to meet and greet Troy Landry from Swamp People. 

Though that was awesome because that's Troy....."shoot'em, shoot'em Lizbeth", what I really was geeking about was this brand new store.  It is three stores in one; Field & Stream, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Golf Galaxy.  There was everything and anything you can think of. 

They brought it because of course, everything is bigger in Texas.  This store fits in perfectly.  There were three things that impressed me the most:

1)  Help Button-I hate being in a store and no associates can be found.  Or being in the back of the store with a small child wanting to be in and out but guess what, no one tries to help you even though you obviously need help.

There are need help buttons all over the store in every area.

2)  The Pros-We are amateurs at everything but hello, that is how everyone starts right.  There are Pros and technicians available in-store for Lacrosse, Golf, Skate, Guns, Fishing, Racquet, Glove, Bike, Bowling, Archery, and CO2 filling.  So even if you don't know what you are doing, they do. 

This could have came in handy when my son started playing Tennis and I had no clue where to start.  Really would have save me the million trips to several stores looking for the perfect bike for me or when we were searching for a bike rack for our car.  Sports equipment is not like clothes that you can just try on in the fitting room.  Most of the time you buy it taking a chance because once you walk out the door it is yours and you can't return it once you try it.

3)  Product Selection-There was so much selection to choose from.

Just check out the Bike and Cycling section that has a wide selection of gear and equipment available for you to choose from.  It is like Dick's knew about all the cycling groups in the Houston area.
