What comes to mind when you hear the phrase “Aquatic Spectacular”? Water, entertainment, excitement……? You can expect all these things and so much more from the brand new themed Cirque Italia production with its perfectly fitting new title. After six years of enhancements, a rigorous casting selection, and countless performances nationwide, this newest form of Cirque Italia’s innovative and unique “traveling circus” spectacular production is set to be its finest to date. Aquatic Spectacular came to life all thanks to its imaginative creator Manuel Rebecchi, along with invaluable direction and production management by Chanté DeMoustes. Cirque Italia’s brand-new theme show is an artistic blend of human abilities, technology and the element of water. This one-of-a-kind production combines water fountains, jet-skis, pirates, and more in a fun filled atmosphere all ages are sure to enjoy.

  Performers from all over the world have been brought together under the enchanted spiral of the white and blue big top.  The merging of their astonishing skills with the poetic element of water has led to the creation of a truly unforgettable experience.  Cirque Italia has managed to create a beautifully unique theatrical production by combining the gracefulness of the human body with the calming fluidity of water, along with bursts of power and excitement as well.  Aquatic Spectacular offers two hours of high-end entertainment.  Beautiful aerialists dazzle and shimmer on a chandelier high above the ground, but they aren’t the only ones that will draw your eyes toward the sky.  You can expect to see contortion in a bubble, a Venetian aerial duo, and even someone hula hooping while in the air.  Don’t worry about getting your eyes checked, you aren’t seeing double; there are TWO lasermen.  Duo jugglers, duo roller-skaters, the always breathtaking wheel of death………the list goes on and on.  It is even possible for a pre-historic dinosaur to make an appearance. Let your imagination wander, because anything is possible in this new whimsical production.

THE DINOSAURS ROCK SHOW- Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 10am Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center
Since 2001, DINOSAURS ROCK© has provided educational and entertaining programs for schools, camps, festivals in New York, Texas, California and even New Zealand.
The programs are highly participatory with children being selected from the audience to participate in the show. Following every show is a Fossil Dig where children can find real fossil and mineral specimens to take home. The specimens include dinosaur bone, petrified wood, ammonites, fossil clams, corral, fossil shark teeth and beautiful minerals like quartz, pyrite, and calcites of all colors.

For the first time, THE DINOSAURS ROCK SHOW will come to the KVPAC, Katy Visual Performing Arts Center with a special presentation that includes the show, the fossil dig and even a fossil shark tooth necklace activity all for one price. Tickets are $14 for kids and $10 for parents.
The entire program including the show, the fossil dig and the fossil shark tooth necklace activity will last about 90 minutes. The show will feature actual fossils and museum exhibits including a T-Rex skull, T-Rex foot and T-Rex footprint all found in North America. Tasty Thursday-Bonefish Grill Katy

Have you ever heard of Bonefish Grill? 

There is a new restaurant in Katy, Texas.  Bonefish Grill located at 2643 Commercial Center Boulevard in Katy’s LaCenterra is now open! The opening kicked off with a charity night on March 2, which raised more than $9,500 for Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center’s Books Alive! Program.  How awesome is that!

I had never heard of Bonefish Grill which originally started in Florida.  Bonefish Grill is not new in there are actually two in the area-Willowbrook and Webster.  And now the Katy one which I was able to go and sample the menu.

Not only can guests enjoy fresh seafood, but this location is also serving a newly added Bonefish Grill perk — Sunday Brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., which includes brunch favorite Créme Brulee French Toast made with Grand Marnier and orange zest, served with mascarpone whipped cream, fresh mint, strawberries and bacon.   My thoughts-I love seafood.  Wait, I love good seafood.  The menu has many options to choose from.  Everything is fresh.  Everything was so flavorful and tasty.  The atmosphere in this place is awesome.  It is a great place to come and enjoy a great dinner with the family.  My sister in law and I had a great time.  Our appetizers included the Bang, Bang Shrimp which has a great sauce, the Ahi Tuna Sashimi which if you are scared to try it like we were DO TRY, Wagyu Beef and Ginger Dumplings which are something totally different to try, and the Saucy Shrimp which has a great combination of flavors.  For our main dish, we shared the Sampler Dinner for Two platter which had a little of everything.  The best side ever is the Potatoes Au Gratin.  Someone at the table ordered the Lily's Chicken which was not something I would have ordered but was good once you try it.  Our salads had the house dressing called Citrus Vinagrette which I really liked.  I have had some really boring Vinagrettes and this is not one of them.  Like we had any room to taste anything else but who could say no to dessert.  Desserts are made to order and boy are they awesome.  I had the GLUTEN FREE chocolate brownie which was so delicious to my taste buds.  My sister in law tried the chocolate creme Brulee which really was a tasty treat that kept me wanting more and more.   If you are looking to stay on a budget, check out their Happy Hour Specials.
