Giveaway-Dino Dan Review

I know some parents frown upon using movies as learning tools but sometimes you find ones that have been created with your kids in mind.  Do your kids like dinosaurs?

My daughter loves animals , all kinds.  She is very intriged with dinosaurs.  She is turning 2 years old but is not your average 2 year old.  I remember taking my son, MJ to see the dinosaur exhibits at the museums and how interested he has always been.

But why are our kids so interested in dinosaurs?

Freelance writer and book author Bob Strauss pondered this question for About.com and came up with some pretty solid explanations!! 

·      For starters, he believes kids like dinosaurs because the huge, dangerous creatures are extinct, so kids know that dinosaurs are not a threat.

·      He also believe that dinosaurs are also role models for kids because dinosaurs are big and nobody tells them what to do – the exact opposite of a kid, who is small and is always being told how to behave. 

·      Kids also like the size and scope of dinosaur skeletons, definitely a cool factor!

·      And they also like the possibility that, like Matt Larson, a paleontologist for the Black Hills Institute of Geologic Research, they too might be able to someday discover dinosaur fossils – as he did just this summer in the plains of northeast Wyoming!

Do you have a Barbie girl at home?  I'm a Barbie in a Barbie Worrrllldddd...yes, I am singing again.  Sorry, long day.  But I really was a Barbie girl and still am at heart.  My daughter is so girlie and loves her Barbie's.  She really loves fairies.  When she saw Mariposa, she was so excited.

Mariposa and her furry friend Zee return in Barbie Mariposa & the Fairy Princess. In this magical adventure, Mariposa becomes the royal Ambassador of Flutterfield and is sent to bring peace between her fairy land and their rivals, the Crystal Fairies of Shimmervale. While Mariposa doesn’t make a great first impression on their King, she becomes fast friends with his shy daughter, Princess Catania. However, a misunderstanding causes Mariposa to be banished from the fairy land. As Mariposa and Zee return to Flutterfield, they encounter a dark fairy on her way to destroy Shimmervale. Mariposa rushes back and helps Princess Catania save her fairy land and together, the two girls prove that the best way to make a friend, is to be a friend.

My daughter has had this movie playing over and over, in the house and in when we are in the car.  Her favorite little animal was Zee.  And she is taking her Barbie Mariposa everywhere, which of course come on that is what happens when you love your Barbies.  Mariposa goes through an adventure that teaches a great lesson. It is a cute movie your little girl will want to keep watching.
