Last week I received a message forward from my husband for a newsletter he receives from All Pro Dad

In the newsletter, it listed the Top 10 Things You and Your wife fight about. Here I have listed them...
1) Money

Do you agree with this list? In some ways I do and then I don't. I think both wife and husband need to be on the same page.
1) Money-My husband and I have separate accounts and that works for us. I work. He works. I pay some bills, he pays others. When we got out, funny as it may be, we play rock, paper, scissor for the bill. This works for us.
2) Communication-OMG. This one, I must agree with. Because I am always right, and he is always right. Both wife and husband must know what each other is feeling, thinking, planning, etc. I am a planner, and my husband is not. I have a schedule and he never does. But communication can keep us at peace.
3) Children-I was so lucky to find a wonderful guy after being a single mother for so long. And it does take some getting use to when it comes to parenting, when it has always been only one person making decisions. But I really enjoying giving up some of the responsibilities, and asking him for help.
4) Intimacy-Every couple needs to make time for this. It helps them remember the love. The reason they got together and got married. Just this morning I heard on the radio, everyone loves to be cuddled, and held. I know I sure do!!
5) Time-Yeah, this one is a biggie. With our schedules always conflicting we don't even have time to argue about not spending time together. Time is a gift, some of us take it for granted. Enjoy the time you have with one another. Shut out the world and stay in.
6) Priorities-I have always been very goal oriented. And now I married a Marine/Police Officer. I think our priority is always to be great parents, great partners, and then everything else just falls in place.
7) Jealousy-Guilty as charged. But have you looked at my husband, it is just a compliment!!! Sorry honey, this is what you get for being FINE!!
8) Religion-A family that worships together, stays together.
9) Politics-Yeah, right! This is NOT a problem.
10) The Past-The past is just that- the past. We have to learn to let it go! We are in the present. Let's look forward to the future.

My husband and I have a great understanding for one another. I always joke and say-Always agree to disagree. It's a Love Hate Relationship. You are not always going to get everything your way. You are not always going to like what they say. But in the end like my husband says, "Is this really what you want to fight about?" Pick your battles. Is it really worth it? A friend once told me, "Be glad you have someone to argue with, some of us don't!"

On my Facebook page, I asked-Hey married people, what are your pet peeves? Researching a topic and I want your opinion??? One of my OCD issues is that everything has a home.

Tasty Thursday-Chilis

This week my husband and I were not able to go to lunch, instead we are doing dinner for our Tasty Thursday and the munchkin is coming along too. So I am trying to keep the dinner under $50. And yes, I am giving Chilis a second chance. For those that do not know, or remember, a couple of months ago I posted about having a really bad experience at Chilis and no longer wanting to eat there. Well here's the problem, my family loves Chilis. So we decided to give Chilis another try, and this time, we went to a different location-Pearland.

Let me give you some information you may not know, check out this picture...

Chilis has happy hour specials in the bar area. Ok, so maybe you do not want to grab a drink but you have to take advantage of the prices. All the appetizers listed in the picture are full size but half the price, just for sitting in the bar area. The sign at the door as we walked in said, HAPPY HOUR-ALL DAY-MONDAY-THURSDAY. And the Chips and Salsa are free too!

And currently, Chilis is running this special...

$20 DINNER FOR TWO - SHARE AN APPETIZER and TWO FULL-SIZE ENTREES. No substitutions. Price does not include beverage or tax. (Offer valid only at participating US locations.)

So the plan was to keep the meal under $50. So we sat in the bar area. By the way City of Pearland, has not passed the No Smoking Ordinance, so people were smoking but it didnt really bother me becuase they left right when we got there. We were greeted right away by the lovely Ms. Amanda. Our order came out right, and right away. We ordered so much food that there was no room on our table. 3 servers actually came out with all our food. It was great to receive this kind of service after having such poor service from other Chilis. The food was mmmmm, great! We had to take some home. Below you will see a copy of our receipt for 3 people with a $6.00 tip included was a total of $44.48.

I wish all Chilis employees were as friendly as Amanda because our experience was awesome. Guess what, we will be returning to THIS Chilis.

Kroger - double/triple coupon program

Have you seen the show Extreme Couping? Last night, I stayed up to watch all 4 eposides which I had missed because I was in California last week. I was out of tune with the world and I heard that Krogers would discontinue their double/triple coupon program. I have over the last year started couponing. I am not an extreme couponer but I have had my share of great deals. I love to stock pile. And I have been able to share my groceries with some of my family. The price of gas has gone up, the price of items are going up, the unit size is going down, and with our income staying the same we need to do something to help out our budget. Couponing is a great way to save money. I rarely shopped at Krogers before last year because the prices always seemed higher to me than the stores around me. But last year, when I started to use coupons it made since to go to Krogers so they could double and triple my coupons. I even wen to the store at midnight for one of the biggest MEGA events ever. ANd I was not alone. It was crazy to see all those people in the store at midnight shopping for groceries. I am really bummed to hear that they will discontinue this program. I have had several friends now get hooked on the show Extreme Couponing and your interest in couponing has prompted me to inform you of this decision by posting this from the Kroger page that affects the Houston area.

An Important Message Regarding Greater Houston Texas Stores:

Kroger operates 2,458 supermarkets and multi-department stores in 31 states across the country as 18 separate divisions. Each Kroger division offers various customer rewards and savings programs depending on each specific market.

Greater Houston, Texas area Kroger stores will discontinue the double/triple coupon program on Wednesday, April 13, 2011. We are in the process of finalizing the new coupon policy and will share this with local customers when it becomes effective. In the meantime, the information listed below should prove helpful in responding to your questions about the matter.

With the growing popularity of digital coupons, mobile apps and manufacturers producing coupons valued at more than 50 cents, we feel it’s an ideal time to test out a new money-saving program and discontinue double/triple. There’s a possibility we may re-introduce double/triple by hosting special shopping events intermittently.


We will still continue to accept coupons at face value. Part of the new policy states there is a limit of one electronic or paper manufacturer coupon per item. The opportunity to stack is no longer available. A digital coupon and manufacturer paper coupon may not be combined on the purchase of a single item. More than 100 digital coupons are available daily at www.kroger.com.


If you have loaded an electronic coupon to your Kroger Plus card, then the digital coupon will apply before the manufacturer paper coupon.


In addition to accepting coupons at face value, Kroger still offers a number of ways to save. We saved Texas shoppers more than $25 million in 2010 through different programs, including the generic drug pricing ($4/30-day supply and $10/90-day supply), fuel rewards, everyday 10% senior discount for shoppers who are 59 and older and our pick 6 wine discount. Also, Kroger customers will continue to receive Loyal Customer Mailings that include coupons tailored directly to the products they buy most.


Through the fuel rewards program, shoppers save 3 cents per gallon everyday at Kroger Fuel Centers. There are 67 Kroger Fuel Centers in Greater Houston. Customers can save 10 cents per gallon at Kroger Fuel Centers and at more than 500 participating Shell locations in the area when they earn 100 fuel rewards points. Kroger 123 Rewards MasterCard holders continue to save 15 cents per gallon on fuel at Kroger.


Rewards points can be earned in the following ways:
-- Spend $100 on groceries, earn 100 points. ($1 = 1 point)
-- Spend $50 on gift cards and we double the points. (1 $50 gift card = 100 points)
-- Fill or refill 2 prescriptions at a Kroger Pharmacy. (1 prescription = 50 pts)
A more thorough outline of our coupon policy is to come; however, we want to equip you with key messages that can address your current concerns. Please feel free to use coupons before the double/triple program expires on Wednesday, April 13.
