Tasty Thursday-Cooking with Coca Cola

***Disclosure-I am a Seaworld Wildsider.  My family and I have been given complimentary passes.  All opinions stated are my own based on my personal experience.

On Tuesday, I told you about Seaworld Seven Seas Food Festival happening now through May 31st.  Today I am sharing with you my experience at the Cooking with Coke in North Pacific.
We got to meet Chef Sam Boisjoly who is the Executive Sous Chef at the Omni Hotels.  He was born in Chile, studied in Mexico, and now he now is in San Antonio, Texas.  Known for "Latin Soul Food".  He showed us ho to make Cherry Coke Kalua Pork & Tropical Slaw Sliders.

Pork
Ingredients
3 pounds Boneless Pork Butt
2 cups Cherry Coke
2 tbs. Hawaiian Salt
2 tbs. Cracked Pepper
1 cup Chopped Celery
1 cup Chopped Onion

Tropical Slaw
Ingredients
1 cup Julienne Purple Cabbage
1/2 cup Diced Pineapple
1/2 cup Diced Mango
1/4 cup Cilantro Leaves
1 tsp. Grated Ginger
2 tbs. Soy Sauce
1/2 tsp. Cracked Pepper
1 tsp. Kosher Salt
3 tsp. Mayo
2 tsp. Orange Fanta Reduction

Chef Sam shared with us some of his tips.  He grows his own garden.  He creates his own fusions.  I even learned about Hawaiian Salt.  It smells wonderful.  My husband said it looks like Volcano ash.  We were also joined by Chef Scott.  I wish I could create in the kitchen like these men.
And we even got to taste the finished product....
My son said he really enjoyed it, especially the slaw.  He doesn't even do slaw.  We all enjoyed it!
